My name is Salvador Burnay Barros.
I’m an impact-seeker. Enabling amazing products growth is what drives me.
I believe that financial literacy and the entrepreneurial mindset are two of the most important skills to adapt all people to a fast-changing world, and to surviving to an ever-more challenging and global world.
I always liked to find the next great tool / system / gadget to understand how it could make my life easier or funnier. No-code and Large Language Models have changed a lot the way I work and things in life, saved me a ton af time, made me more curious and ambitious on building new things.
A product manager with the commercial drive to turn a strong vision into impact on people. A project manager with a practical perspective, that builds towards communication clarity with an intense working mood. A very creative person, able solve all sort of problems using no-code solutions in order to not depending on developers to have business impact. A curious every-day learner, always seeking for the next learning opportunity and excited to share learnings/mistakes with others.
I studied Business Administration, with a major on Business Strategy & Consulting at Católica-Lisbon (2010-2016), and complemented that knowledge with the graduation on the European Innovation Academy program (2014) as a mean to acquire more Silicon Valley experience- and academic-based knowledge to execute entrepreneurship. I’m always learning new things.

2 on-going missions
🥊BHOUT
- Problem: Gym facilities are terrible at retaining people. 40-65% of people abandon that initiated activity within 3-6 months. More than 1bn people in the world are obese - and highly exposed to chronic diseases such as diabetes. We need to find an alternative.
- Solution: inspired by video games and entertainment industries acknowledged for their ability to engage people. No says that “you are fat, you need to play a video game or watch a netflix series”. People do that because they feel like, and get excited about and get hit by dopamine to repeat such activity. We at bhout we use nudging psychology, gaming elements and and use fitboxing as a interface.
- We started with the BHOUT Club. Not only we changed the business model to make it much more scalable and self-service to people, but most importantly, the customer life-time is already 4x higher than the industry average.
- The soul of the project is our BHOUT Bag, that is inside our clubs and people will be able to find them at their friends houses, office gyms, on hotels when travelling and wherever else they’d be on their personal life journeys.
- The vision: Soon your next punch at a BHOUT Bag will hit a real-looking zombie, and you’ll be saving the world from them.
- Some traction:
- Raised 11 million Euros between Jan 2022 and the present
- Won best fittech startup in Europe 2022
- Won the second most innovative fitness facility in the world of 2022 (with only one club)
🥕o amador financeiro
- Problem: Portugal is a country with the lowest financial literacy in the Eurozone (2022). There’s tons of content on financial education, but the bridge towards practice is only done via workshops, and courses that can become expensive for Portuguese young pockets, whom can hardly save.
- Solution: The first newsletter written by common people that brings great quality content adapted to anyone’s language, independently of their background and schooling. Every article always includes a framework or a working templates (with the technology normal people use) that eliminate barriers and facilitate transitions towards action that perfectly facilitate our homework suggestions. Everything is reviewed by experts to assure credibility and legitimacy of the content for education purposes.
- Vision: People need to learn this on every generation, and we’re trying to build the first and only reference that Portuguese will need to learn personal finance. The content will always be on the safe side and organized for several journeys, from fundamentals until supporting entrepreneurship development, learning to invest, etc. It will also be the community where there will always exist peers to support.
- Some traction:
- Successfully built an exciting team by Feb 2023
- We launched the first post in April 2023 - have achieved 2000 subscribers - we reached 300k people on LinkedIn.
- Achieved organically 3k subscribers within the first 6 months of the project without any financial investment.
- We have 60% of open rate on average - 50% above the industry benchmark.
- We look to accelerate the growth rate and the distribution of the project.
Projects that marked my life
1. betventures.org
It was a project that was involving during my studies, I learned what entrepreneurship is and developed a lot of work as a Leader of a students project that had the goal of helping any young entrepreneur at testing their business models, doing customer validation, getting their first sales, or at preparing and finding the first investment rounds.

2. tapmyback.com | Employee Engagement Software
I've started as a "full-stack b2b business developer" where I did activities from SDR until Customer Success with customers coming from all over the world.
After 6 months I got promoted to become the Product Manager / CEO of the project.
On this role, I had to develop a full-structure a marketing-to-sales-to-customer success funnel and build the processes to execute efficiently as well as to identify improvement opportunities, based on date. Beyond the commercial side I also had to connect the customer-sourced information towards managing our product strategy and roadmap. We had customers like: Pernod Ricard, McDonald's Portugal, Arizona University, Millennium BCP or CBRE.
"Salvador is a business and product leader, who has a passion for building digital products that solve real user problems. He showed great leadership through passion, humbleness, and an openness to new ideas and feedback. He always had a growth mindset, a keen eye for finding insights and then trying out new ideas and measuring their impact." - David Ponces, ex-colleague at Tap My Back and a great Product Manager
Â
Key Learnings:
- Build a holistic growth Strategy through the entire Marketing, to Sales, to Customer Success Funnel;
- Product Management;
- Fundraising and Exit Strategies to onboard investors
- Data-driven decision-making became a part of me, both for product and sales.
Â
Outcomes:
- Have been a founder for about 2 years
- Have tasted what is not being able to achieve product-market-fit in terms of business (and sales) metrics with the current means, and it can feel impossible to build an interesting business
- Tried investing in growth backfired at us, and eventually diminished our strategic flexibilty as we would develop more the software.

3. Nova SBE Co.Innovation Lab
After my first two entrepreneurial projects, and wanted to bridge that entrepreneurial knowledge and bring it to the corporate reality. Nova SBE Co.Innovation Lab would provide Innovation Consulting Project or Innovation programs to companies. Therefore I managed several programs from doing Inspiration Safaris, Hackathons, Design Thinking Bootcamps or Design Sprints until Designing and Implementing Open Innovation and Go-to-market Programs for helping customers implementing new business models through collaborations with startups or by developing new internal businesses, respectively. Some of the projects where I played a relevant role involved Nova SBE partners such as: Sonae (Retail), Ageas (Insurance), Nestlé (FMCG) , or Vieira de Almeida (Law firm).
"Relaxed by nature, Salvador has an energy that never ends! With his natural way, he can move audiences for hours on end and keep energy levels always high. When Salvador seizes a project, he lives it with “his body and soul”. Structured and with practical ideas, Salvador looks for the best ways to manage and deliver to the customer a little bit above what he asked for. It is with great naturalness that the Salvador involves all people, however different they may be, and creates a feeling of group. Always available and willing to help, Salvador is an asset in interacting with customers" - Madalena Caetano, ex-colleague at Nova SBE Co.Innovation Lab
"I think he stood out as a host and facilitator of our programs, such as Hackathons and Design thinking programs, for his immense resilience and ability to help teams in the most difficult times. His positive attitude towards the difficulties and the ease with which he connects with anyone, are added value to any project in which he participates." - Gonçalo Rodrigues, ex-colleague at Nova SBE Co.Innovation Lab
Â
Key Learnings:
- Multiple Projects Execution
- Multiple Stakeholders Management
